ThaiLand Restaurant Review - Bankstown

Mum discovered this place. Nice interior, everything is fairly symmetrical.

Staff was friendly, service was quick. Affordable and delicious meal. We both got the lunch special.

I got the panang curry with beef. I love the coconut flavour, I'm a little obsessed with curries at the moment. Loved the sauce, however beef wasn't tender, bamboo shoots were a bit tough. Well.. at least you know they're not soaking their meat and veg in softening agents.

Mum got the chicken vegie stir fry thingy in OX sauce.

She enjoyed it. Our meal was just under $20.

I'd go back again.

The Cheesecake Shop - Profiterole Torte

One of my favourite tortes of all time. Custard and jam filling. Profiteroles are filled with cream.

Ms G's Restaurant Review - Potts Point

Finally got around to try this.

A 2min walk (200m) from Kings Cross station.

Mini bánh mì  $6ea

There's a choice between chicken katsu and pork belly, we got the pork belly. The sauce is amazing, tastes exactly like viet pork rolls, only with the hefty price tag attached. $4 pork roll VS a palm sized burger. You do the maths.

Ms G’s grilled corn on the cob, parmesan, lime $4ea

I don't normally eat a lot of corn, but I enjoyed this.. the sauce was a winner. Corn comb and parmesan!? Genius!

D I Y Sang Choy Bao – Sichuan chilli lamb, smoked eggplant sambal $26

Enjoyable, quite chilli, soaked in oil. Recommended

Egg noodles with XO sauce, braised duck, soft poached egg $18

Half way through the Sang Choy Bao, we thought we'd still be hungry, got greedy and ordered another main. There was an poached egg hidden under the pile of duck. The duck was disappointing, would've prefered crispy skin.. the duck and stringy, soggy and had this odd fish-like texture -- especially with the XO sauce, added fishiness... I didn't enjoy this too much. Serving was too small to be a main, noodles were probably over cooked and difficult to separate.

“Stoner’s Delight 2.0” doughnut ice cream, peanut butter, raspberry jam, candied bacon, potato chips, mars bar slice, banana fritter $12

Those were potato chips!? I thought the yellow things were corn flakes. They must've modified this dish.. no nougat (seen on other blogs). Candied bacon was "interesting". Mars bar slices tasted more like coco pops slices... Not overly impressed with this dessert.

“Dirty Passion” Passion fruit custard, chocolate, coconut  $12

My friend had this, I had a scoop and enjoyed it. Passionfruit custard was delicious, a nice sour contrast, hidden under the crumbs. Recommended.

BellaBox September 2012

Since I'm pretty much jobless now, I have an abundance of spare time on my hands. Instead of going out to meet new people, why not stay in and meet new products?

After much deliberation I subscribed to Bellabox. I'm at the point where I have all the cosmetics and stuff I need but wouldn't mind trialing different brands. If you're particular about your products then it's probably not worth your while. But If you feel like your life is on a downward spiral then it might be ideal to go on a spontaneous binge. Try shit you probably would never go out to buy, why not?! Lets not calculate the "value", there's no value when you're sampling, there's only quality. I may have gone on an impulsive limb, because after I received my first box I upgraded to annual membership, $165 pa.

Uhaircare styling gel. I like the erect bottle. Apparently it's a natural styling gel, my BB beauty profile states Normal hair --- so they didn't send me crap related to frizzy or curly hair. Much appreciated. looking forward to try it!

Bioderma gel cleanser

Bioderma lotion- When used in conjunction with the gel cleanser it's said to rid impurity -- exactly what I need, my face is blotchy as fuck since I ate those scummy bamboo shoots.

Savoir Faire Concealer and Finishing Powder. Top four is concealer, bottom two is finishing powder. I was gonna go out to buy a new concealer, no kidding. BB is a mind reader, I can see how our relationship will work out already.

You me and everybody skin mousse cleanser for dry skin. Perfecto. I have dry skin, and I like to wash my face. This is the only full size product in this batch.

Benefit It's potent eye cream. I love my eye cream and its one of the few things I'd splurge on (other than food). I have a bit of dark circles going on due to long nights and strange assignments. The little tub is so cute!

A product card to your right and a $15 ICONIC voucher to your left.

You must spend $69 or more @ ICONIC to redeem this voucher.. I'll probably never use it.. feel free to rip it off me.

Checkout code is in the picture, but i'll type it out: BELLA15UU3MDW

Content with this month's box as they are all of use to me. The sizes of the samples are relatively petite but stay true to their claim of "deluxe sample" (next time I'll put 20c next to every product). Plus, you'd usually need to buy $50 worth of products to receive samples at Myer or David Jones. Win-win.

This will be a continuously monthly segment till next September.

TAG: How much my face is worth.

I use quite a few different products on rotation depending on accessibility and location convenience because I'm lazy like that. Before I start... I don't know the prices for most of these products because I haven't really purchased make up or skincare for the last 5 years, the only thing I forked money out in this lot was the lash curler (perks of working in the beauty industry.) Unfortunately I'll need to start purchasing my own goods once I finish everything up.. I'm quite scared to find out how much money I will actually need to spend...:\

Lets see how much my face is worth..

Left to Right

DR ALKAITIS organic eye creme $60
BIOTHERM SKIN-ERGETIC night cream.. approx $65
BIORE powercouple SPF 30 Lotion ..approx $13
BIORE nourishing gel cleanser ... approx $14

I forgot the one product I swear by -_-"! A'KIN Rosehip oil -- approx $15

 SHISEIDO mascara $50
SHISEIDO Lash curler $24
REVLON concealer.. approx $12

BLISTEX... approx $4
BOURJOIS bronzing powder... approx $12
SUPER BB CREAM ... approx $15

TOTAL : approx $284

MAC Sheertone Blush in Breezy Review

I feel like it's been a while since I've uploaded a make up related post. So here's one.

I've been using MAC's Breezy on and off for a long period of time - Plum coloured with red pearls. Excellent for warm skin tones.

PROS:

- Excellent pigmentation- a tiny dab is enough for both your cheeks. A swirl for the clown face effect

- Smooth packaging. I like touching it. Sensory input is important for me.

- Relatively long lasting on your skin.

- Sheer but not shimmery. Give a natural flush.

- Minimal fall out

CONS:

- Odd bits of white residue (see enlarged pictures below)

- Texture is not as smooth and velvety.. it's some what chalky and clumpy if you use your fingers... but who gives a fuck, as long as it does the job, right?

I haven't tried a lot of MAC's products but this blush isn't too bad, I really like the colour. However, I've achieved similar results from a much cheaper blush. Might continue to shop around.

$41 for 6g
